The last cattle sale of the Spring season here in Vanderhoof saw 90 contributors send over 1200 head of cattle and calves through the ring. The sale featured the second half of the Lone Oak Ranch dispersal. The quality was the same as two weeks ago and the top set of youthful Red cows with calves at foot marked 2750.00, topping last sale’s high mark. A sort of mature tan pairs reached 2525.00. On the feeder side, Bar K Ranch featured a set of Hfrs at 607 lbs for 187.00, 47 head of 558 lb Hfrs raced to 191.00. John Bree from Telkwa brought us two liner loads of feeders, 709 lb Blk Strs fetched 200.25, Strs at 625 lbs saw 218.00 and 563 lbs got up to 227.50. John’s Hfrs at 603 lbs sold for 186.00, with Hfrs at 564 lbs topping 191.00. Clarence Friesen saw his 821 lb Strs return 184.50, while the 746 Wts raced up to 195.00. DMS Ranch Blk Hfrs at 824 lbs reached 163.00 while the 706 lb sisters climbed to 180.00. Bill Evans had 690 lb Strs force 210.50, 511 lb Strs all the way up to 233.00, Hfrs at 692 lbs were 179.00. Cody Forsberg’s RBF Strs at 731 lbs commanded 200.00. Golden Meadows Ranch Ltd. 660 lb x bred Strs rocketed to 222.00, the 557 lb Strs shot up to 238.00, while Hfrs at 607 lbs saw 191.00 and a sort at 599 all the way to 195.00. A sort of their hard Simm x cows at 1602 lbs saw 97.00 and a Red bull sold for 116.00. Keith and Alexis Hart sold 760 lb strs for 194.00, 668 lb strs to 220.50, 742 lb Hfrs returned 174.00. Johnson Farms 719 lb Strs rose to 200.00, while the 639 lb Strs vaulted to 225.00. Andy Meints Contracting had big strong Hfrs at 853 lbs bring 165.00 and a 2055 lb Red bull see 116.00. V Bar Farms brought a string of Blk Angus Hfrs, 566 lbs were 195.00, 500 wts  all the way to 201.00. PeeblesRanch from Burns Lake sold replacement quality Char x Hfrs at 775 lbs for 181.00 and 750 wts shot up to 187.00. Pooles Arrow Ranch topped the Bull trade today with a 2025 lb Simm Bull reaching 118.50. Walter and Susan Steidle had Red Strs at 801 lbs topping 184.50 and the 754 lb Strs marched to 191.00 while the 739 lb Hfrs walked to 169.00 and 636 lb Hfrs brought 180.00. Walker Cattle Co. presented Strs at 727 lbs that returned 200.00 and Hfrs at 603 lbs that saw 190.00 as well as 1314 lb cows that stopped at 97.00. Brian Hall sold some Blk Hfrs at 752 lbs for 180.50. Tatalrose Ranch had a pair of Bulls averaging 2178 lbs rise to 116.00. Another Spring season is in the books for Vanderhoof.
