Kamloops Sale - Tuesday, May 11, 2021



Huge numbers for a spring sale here with just under 860 hd on offer in Kamloops. An incredible mix of feeders, Butcher cattle and cow/calf pairs. The Douglas Lake Ranch put this powerful sale into action with a load of 45 Hereford 1008 lb hfts trading to 131.75. The Second load of hfts weighing in at 1149 lb traded to 129.50. 20 hd of their Angus x hfts set the market level at 132.75. 46 hd of their fancy 662 lb Hereford h/c set record at 188.00. Ken & Linda Allison with 585 lb blk Angus h/c hit 191.00. Sharon Hyam from Grindrod had 944 lb red hfrs race to 167.00. Frank Riley had a top group of 804 lb strs sell to 212.50, his 620 lb blk hfrs brought 195.00. Fraser Ranches brought 775 lb hfrs that topped 187.00. Jennifer Fryatt’s 832 lb blk strs sold to 198.50. Liebreich Farms sold some beautiful Angus c/c pairs to 2090.00. Larry Spence’s butcher bull hit 120.50. Warren MacLennan had 940 lb strs at 180.00 and his 770 lb Hereford hfrs reached 182.50. Turner Ranch 825 lb Angus strs brought 201.00, their 740 lb Blk strs hit 218.00 and their 850 lb hfrs reached 171.00. Doug & Lois Miller from Louis Creek with their ranch raised 738 lb red baldie hfrs brought 174.00. Ian & Brenda Jones with 405 lb h/c marking 205.00. Ken Barnes from Pritchard had blk Angus c/c pairs trade to 2450.00. Kingsford Cattle Co also had  top quality blk Angus c/c pairs trade to 2300.00. The red factor Angus x c/c pairs raced to 2325.00. They also topped our butcher cow trade with 15 young 1253 lb cows setting a record at 108.00 and 1401 lb butcher cows at 102.50. Greg Goodanetz from Chinook Cove Ranch had 920 lb Simm x hfrs reach 178.50 and the blk 970 lb hfrs topped 170.00. Dan & Carol Dumont’s solid 1449 lb butcher cows reached 99.00. Paul Hooysma’s 523 lb Angus s/c rolled to 249.00. Bernese Meadow Ranch’s 1658 lb top butcher cows reached 101.50  Dixon Creek Farm’s 595 lb blk hfrs hit 193.50. McGillivray Livestock 1527 lb butcher cows brought 99.50. The Tamihi Ranch saw their 1568 lb cows trade to 99.50. Jim Huwer from Lumby set the sale record with 10 hd of 794 lb replacement hfrs topping 182.00, the 12 hd of 807 lb hfrs also topped their weight range at 178.50. Jason & Janna Quesnel had 1275 lb young 3 yr old cows trade to 105.25. It was one unbelievable day of solid quality. Lots of local interest today kept prices strong. The next sale is 2 week away. May 25th.
