Again Kamloops stock yards was alive with action as just under 400 hd of cattle hit the sale ring. An excellent volume of cow/calf pairs were also available at the sale today. Interest was very evident on the grass cattle as its starting to green up. Brian Yamelst had 480 lb s/c sell to 234.00. Wayne Bonneau from Vernon had 470 lb s/c top 250.00 and 609 lb hfrs reach 189.00. Wayne also tested our c/c pair division with good young red & blk Angus pairs trading to 1750.00. Jim Knight from Vernon with an excellent pen of 636 lb Blk Angus strs rocketing to 234.00. Eric Bergstrand had 668 lb hfrs top 190.00. Don Louis had 610 lb s/c reach 218.00. Phil & Shirley Johnson had 950 lb fancy strs sell to 175.50. G&R Proppe’s 700 lb Angus strs hit 209.00, while their 588 lb strs traded to 230.00. Al Lagaden had 465 lb s/c reach 255.00, the fancy 410 lb h/c sold to 212.00. Dan Speller’s 2440 lb Butcher bull hit 116.00. Deanfield Ranch’s 750 lb Hereford x hfrs topped 189.00. John Grawehr of 70 Mile had 550 lb red s/c reach 234.00, the 590 lb s/c sold to 222.00. The Someday Ranch had 600 hfrs top the sale at 203.00. Doug Lansdall had top Angus c/c pairs reach 2050.00, his 1490 lb 2 yr old hfr reached 125.00. The Butcher cow trade was tested today, as Danica Webster from Chilliwack had 1536 lb cows that saw 94.00 and 1688 lb cows topping our sale at 97.00. Barb Harrison put a top on our Butcher bull trade with 1840 lb bulls at 116.00. West Fort Ranch from Westwold with young 1300 lb hfrts topping 136.00. Dan Summers also had 1842 lb Butcher cows reach 96.00. Mary Curnow had 913 lb speckle park hfrs top our market at 166.50. Randy & Wendy Prebushewski had 1645 lb Butcher cows sell to 96.50. A huge thankyou to a house full of buyers and a great group of quality cattle that kept the sale strong. Next sale is 2 weeks away Tuesday May 11.
