Kamloops Sale - Tuesday, May 26, 2020
Today we had a little lighter receipts, with 250 hd, as many ranchers are turning their cattle out to range. Our mix was pretty well split between butcher cows & bulls and feeder cattle. Leona Calhoun set the place into action with her 610 lb s/c racing to 225.00. Sarah Harstad saw her 425 lb Blk Angus s/c top 233.00. Vern Moline had fancy 809 lb Blk hfrs trade to 170.50. C&E Ranch had 755 lb strs top 190.00 and their 690 lb strs hit 206.00. The Meadow Creek Ranch had fancy 360 lb Blk Angus s/c that brought 255.00 and their 542 lb Red Angus x hfrs set the market at 193.00. Peter Walker set the price level for 680 lb Blk Angus strs that raced to 204.00. Alex Lytvynenko 648 lb Blk s/c sold to 208.00. Bob Leavitt had 625 lb strs top 218.00 and Len & Marvin Tonn saw their powerful 1378 lb butcher cows trade to 90.50. Wayne & Jill Hughes set a pace with 1295 lb hfrts that traded to 138.00 and filled the ring with 1579 lb mature butcher cows that raced to 92.50. A group of 4 cow/calf pairs, excellent Black Angus quality, traded to 2,125.00 and one pair went for 2,175.00. Tom & Linda Hancock had young 1240 lb butcher cows mark 95.00. Fred Bowers set a trend with 1460 lb Hereford butcher cows that notched 95.00 and his 2345 lb Hereford butcher bulls marked 113.50. Larry & Eric Buff had 1349 lb butcher cows mark 97.50. Hat Creek Land & Cattle Co. brought in good 1840 lb Blk Angus butcher bulls that marched right up to 121.00. The Split Brooke Farms’ 1960 lb butcher bulls brought 120.00. Mitchell Cattle Co. set the level for their 2445 lb butcher bull that topped 126.00. Our next Kamloops sale will be on Tuesday, June 9th. We already have 20 excellent 500-800 lb steers & heifers and 5 cows from Ken Flett booked, a couple of Red & Black Angus cow/calf pairs from Linda Allison and Elkink Ranch is bringing us 2 liner loads of heifers and cows. It’s shaping up to be a great sale!
