VANDERHOOF REGULAR SALE, FRIDAY, MAY 8th, 2020

Wow! What a sale. Over 700 hd with an amazing assortment of replacement type heifers, grassers, and almost 100 hd of butcher stock. Bart and Jesse Huisman (Batnuni Lk) got the fire lit with 634 lb strs worth 204.00, 545 lb strs that hit 220.00 and their 562 lb hfrs cracked 185.00. Little Valley Farms (Van) had 517 lb Angus X strs reach 220.00 and 485 lb hfrs racing to 213.00! Woodmere Cattle Co (Telkwa) in with 566 lb X bred strs at 220.00, 595 lb hfrs reaching 180.00 and the 2150 lb Simm bull that topped 98.00. We had a few heavy Simm strs in from Pooles Arrow Ranch (Punchaw),at 858 lb, that brought 170.00, and 741 lb strs at 189.00. Pooles Arrow’s Simm hfrs (replacement quality),weighing 729 lb, forced 184.00, and their 599 lb hfrs settled at 200.00. Triple N Ranch (Burns Lk) saw their 698 lb Blk hfrs trade at 171.00. Muir Stock Farms (Van) in with 673 lb hfrs at 180.50 and 1467 lb cows right on 80.00. Lance Muehlen (Fort Fraser) had a 1745 lb blk bull push to 90.00. Andy Meints (Houston) had 777 lb Red hfrs fetch 157.00, 554 lb hfrs at 181.00, and a 1515 lb cow that soarded to 82.00. Peebles Ranch (Burns Lk) brought 637 lb Char X hfrs that edged 183.50 and 730 lb hfrs at 170.00. Brian Hall (Van) had a pen of flashy 762 lb Char X hfrs notch 160.00, 833 lb hfrs at 150.00, and the little sisters, at 598 lb, cruised to 181.25. John Vanzanten (Burns Lk) saw his 2095 lb Red bull reach 86.00. Lazy B Ranch (Houston) had ring load of 875 lb Blk hfrs fetch 150.00 while Ryon and Narel Kusler (Van) traded a pair of 1428 lb Blk cows for 77.00. One of the high lights of the sale was a 940 lb Blk hfr that Harry and Jean Dykstra donated to the Food Grains Bank, Andy Meints bought her at 145.00. That about sums up this sale. Great quality, solid prices, and a perfect spring day to enjoy it. Our last spring sale is May 22nd.
