Once again, the Special Calf Sale was a wall of incredible quality calves! We had buyers all the way from Manitoba here to grab these top calves, and the excitement of the sale was electric! Ken & Linda Allison had 865 lb s/c that topped 200.00. Karl & Carson Bischoff in with a top load of calves. Their 730 lb Simm/Red Angus x s/c topped 209.75 and their 589 lb s/c saw 217.50. 15 hd of their fancy 662 lb Simm/Red Angus x h/c notched 184.00 and their 629 lb h/c marked 187.50. The Philip Ranch, Peter & Sharon Philip set the bar for price as they saw their 41 hd of 646 lb s/c top 212.00. The big boys, 700 lb, hit 209.00. 24 hd of their choice quality 572 lb h/c notched 185.25. Kal Lake Cattle Co. had 607 lb Blk Angus s/c race to 208.00 and their big brothers, 721 lb, set the record at 212.00. The Silver Spur Ranch, Rob & Dean Trenholm, saw their heavy 765 lb Red & RBF s/c top 205.00, their 659 lb powerful s/c also brought 205.00. their h/c were heavy and good at 667 lb and marked 180.00. Bill & Kelly Jackson saw their 768 lb Red x s/c sell to 205.25 and their 658 lb h/c hit 181.50. Ian & Brenda Jones’ 553 lb Angus x s/c powered to 213.00 and their 421 lb s/c topped 227.50. Copper Creek Ranch’s 600 lb Angus s/c hit 207.50, their load of 539 lb s/c traded to 215.00 and their 521 lb h/c reached 190.25. Ken McDougall saw his 678 lb s/c sell to 208.25 and his 588 lb h/c hit 190.00. Scott McLeod in with 823 lb strs that sold to 188.00 and his top quality 380 lb s/c topped 238.00. The 8 Mile Ranch had 2 complete liner loads of yearlings and calves on offer today. The 1st load of 900 lb Angus strs topped 186.75. Their 1st draft of Red Simm x s/c, 600 lb, traded to 210.00. Their load of 547 lb s/c sold to 215.75 The Calton Cattle Co.’s 574 lb h/c raced to 191.00. Kelly Wallden had 481 lb Angus s/c roll to 225.00 and her 645 lb s/c brought 210.00. Ron Eden saw his 33 hd of Angus x s/c, 463 lb, top their weight range at 226.50. Walter Bopfinger had 620 lb Char x s/c top 211.00 and his solid 809 lb Char s/c powered to 202.00 while his 647 lb Char h/c hit 192.00. Gene Ewalt showcased a load of excellent calves. 24 hd of his 507 lb Angus x s/c raced to 220.00 and the big brothers, just under 800 lb, traded to 202.50. Duut Management saw their ring full of 537 lb Blk s/c reach 214.00 and their 402 lb Blk s/c hit 231.00. It was quite a day! Huge numbers in with almost 1700 hd. Prices were steady and the quality was excellent. Next week, October 22nd, we have another 2000 hd of top calves booked. It’s going to be a huge, electric sale!
