Kamloops Sale - Tuesday, Oct 1, 2019



What a sale in Kamloops today! We had the largest Tuesday 1st week of October Cattle Sale that we have ever seen! We sold just under 1900 hd, including the In-House Video Sale for the powerful Stirling Creek Ranch. To start this incredible ring sale off we had The Douglas  Lake Cattle Co. put the go to our yearling market. Their pen of Buckskin hfrs, 656 lb, raced to 192.50. Their ring full of 800 lb strs hit 195.00 and their 722 lb strs marked 201.00. Next, 22 hd of the big boys, at 863 lb, set the bar at 198.50 and their 817 lb strs sat up at 205.00. Bert Saur of the Bar Zee Cattle Co. set the fire to the heavy feeder trade today with 300 yearling strs. The 1st liner load of 66 heavy Blk Angus strs, 944 lb, set the market leader board at 184.00. The next load of 76 solid Blk & BWF strs, just the right kind at 818 lb, powered way up to 206.50, and their 600 lb Char x s/c told to 217.00. Their fancy 523 lb Tan h/c brought 205.00. Glen Frankie showcased 862 lb s/c that saw 200.00 and his 775 lb s/c rolled right up to 206.50. The Stirling Creek Ranch’s In-House Video Sale was huge and put every buyer at the edge of their seat! The 1st load, 80 hd of Blk Angus & Char x s/c, 630 lb, sold at 208.00. The 2nd load of 80 s/c, also Blk Angus & Char x, 520 lb, brought 216.00. Their 3rd liner load of 100 beautiful Blk Angus & Char x h/c, called to weigh 575 lb, blew the doors off at 193.50. Huge Thanks to Gerry & Jay St. Germain for, again, setting the price quality bar for great calves! Moving back into the ring sale, Glen Frankie had 862 lb s/c at 200.00 and 775 lb s/c bring 206.50. Ken Nicholas’s 533 lb Blk Angus s/c saw 209.00. Richard & Ephram Hug were in with fancy 528 lb Gelbvieh x s/c that topped 215.00 and their 489 lb Red X h/c traded to 196.00. Nick & Lonette Graffunder’s 675 lb Simm x s/c grabbed 208.00 and their 595 lb h/c saw 190.50. The Deanfield Ranch was in with 933 lb Hereford strs that topped 181.50 and their 809 lb spayed Hereford hfrs hit 171.00. Mark & Cara Haywood-Farmer showcased some powerful calves, with 300 hd of quality. The 1st ring full of 645 lb Red Angus x s/c hit 210.25. Next 77 hd, 565 lb, set the record at 216.00. Their load of 75 first class 576 lb good h/c marched up to 190.00 and 53 hd of their 517 lb h/c notched 193.25. Jack Regan’s 820 lb hfrs sold to 177.50. Warren & Kim Bryanton, Bar WK Ranch, had a load of 642 lb Red x s/c see 208.25 and their 584 lb s/c topped 213.75. Their 515 lb s/c hit 218.00. Ogilvie Stock Farm showcased fancy Hereford, s/c, 541 lb, that flew to 210.00 and their 613 lb s/c brought 203.50. John & Judy Greenall’s 690 lb Hereford s/c sold to 200.00. Landon Grave’s 688 lb Blk Angus s/c traded to 205.25 and his silver, 645 lb s/c saw 211.75. Peter Pooli’s 745 lb Simm x s/c brought 200.00 and the 681 lb h/c reached 185.00. Dirk & Joyan Vandermeer set a record with 650 lb Blk Angus s/c at 206.00. Their pen of 576 lb Blk Angus s/c notched 211.00 and their 506 lb s/c raced to 216.50. Their fancy 526 lb h/c saw 189.00.
