VANDERHOOF REGULAR SALE, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th
It was another great day at the market Friday! 400 calves, 500 yearlings, 200 cows, and 35 mature bulls! Solid value in most classes, excellent presentation of quality. The bar was set high at the start with John and Hillary McNolty (Van) bringing 672 lb exotic s/c worth 207.25, 592 lb s/c reaching 212.25, 617 lb h/c at 186.00, and 534 lb h/c settled at 190.00. A ring load of McNolty butcher cows, 1329 lb, drove the bid to 84.25. Brian and Katrina Hall (Van) showed some flashy s/c ideal for backgrounding, at 456 lb, they forced 220.00 and their 539 lb h/c edged 185.25. Brian and Katrina also had some 1382 lb cows fetch 83.00. Ralph Hopkins (Van) saw his 540 lb s/c race to 213.25 and 532 lb h/c brought 185.00 and 1540 lb cows hit 80.50. Brandon Darter (Francois Lk) in with 461 lb s/c at 219.00, 423 lb h/c marking 190.00. Q. Lema Holdings (Fort St. James) had 521 lb b/c crack 201.50 and 486 lb h/c at 185.25. Let's roll into the yearling trade with Tatalrose Ranch (Burns Lk),a pen of 928 lb steers topped 183.50, 675 lb strs up to 200.50 and 639 lb hfrs notched 180.50. Kerr Cattle Co (Telkwa) saw their 978 lb strs fetch 173.75. DMS Ranch (Van) had 867 lb blk strs reach 183.75, 826 lb hfrs at 165.25 and their 721 lb hfrs up to 172.00. Siegmund Finke (PG) had massive 1016 lb exotic strs force 170.00. Little Valley Farm (Van) brought 710 lb strs worth 191.50 and 735 lb hfrs saw 176.50. Singletree Farms (Van) had 942 lb strs strike 178.00 and 872 lb strs at 181.75. Garrett Ranches (Van) filled the ring with 879 lb Ang/Hereford hfrs trading at 162.75 and 773 lb Hereford hfrs rolled to 171.50. Big Eddy Ranch (PG) had 918 lb hfrs trot to 162.00, 1178 lb cows landing at 82.00, and their 1890 lb Hereford bull pushed 106.00. Hatch Creek Ranch (Topley) had 1500 lb cows at 81.25, and a 2210 lb Hereford bull also hit 106.00. Muir Stock Farms (Van) in with a 1830 lb blk bull that marked 105.00. Walker Cattle Co (Van) saw their 1985 lb red bull at the top of the market, marching to 106.00.
