The first annual Saddle Horse Sale proved to be a huge success at the BC Livestock Vanderhoof, BC stockyards. We, in partnership with the Nechacko Valley Exhibition Society, hosted a weekend full of team roping, barrel racing and of course, the horse sale. 13 top of the line saddle horses sold for an average price of $2300. The high seller was Todo, an 8 yr old Gelding who held the crowd spell bound until the bid reached $6700! All proceeds from the sale of Todo were donated to the Spirit of the North Foundation, for future improvements to the NICU in Prince George. Eva Gulbranson had a 13 yr old gelding named Trooper who forced $4200. Maddie Penner saw Nitro, her 7 yr old gelding, raise $4400 toward her college fund. Jared Reimer showed a classy, middle aged mare (Joey) who trotted right along to $3300. The 4-H club raised $800 by providing a great BBQ lunch!
