KAMLOOPS SALE, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2018
Well another exciting sale in Kamloops as we hit well over 400 hd of cattle. Yearlings were most plentiful with 300 on offer with a nice group of calves and our regular supply of butcher cows and bulls. The Horse Camp Ranch were the leaders and price setters for their top quality calves an incredible pen of their 514 lb red Angus x s/c topped the sale at 220.00, and their 423 lb b/c raced to 246.00. Bill Bifford blew the doors off with 632 lb red Angus hfrs notching 195.00. Yvonne Johnson, from Mara, brought a top set of 610 lb s/c that raced to 214.00, their 513 lb s/c hit 223.00, a pen of their 473 lb s/c saw 228.00 and the 588 lb h/c that reached 200.00. Tamihi Reforestation had 400 lb red Angus x s/c trade to 253.00 and their 390 lb h/c hit 220.00. Their 1000 lb hfrs sold to 173.00 and their 930 lb hfrs hit 178.75.Javier Hernandez, from Darfield, had 433 lb s/c sell to 242.00, 363 lb s/c hit 218.00 and their fancy 619 lb h/c saw 200.00.The Rosco Ranch from Westbridge, saw their top quality 819 lb blk Angus strs reach 199.00. A double draft of 44 blk Angus strs weighing in at 765 lbs raced to 207.00 and their 649 lb strs traded 222.50. Bill Stirling, from Knutsford, set the pace for yearlings with 35 hd of 832 lb blk & red Angus x hfrs topping 183.75. Ed & Tracy Everett from the Open Heart Ranch, had 950 lb blk Angus steers race to 185.50 ,their 811 lb strs notch 199.50 and a pen of beautiful Hereford strs weighing 852 lb saw 195.00. Oleksandr Lytvynenko’s, 670 lb strs sold to 221.00 Herbert Mehl’s 1075 lb strs hit 177.50. Deanfield Ranch saw their 842 lb spayed Hereford hfrs sell to 181.25 and their 741 lb hfrs sell to 189.50. Butcher cows averaged 75.00 to 83.00 with a few sales touching a bit higher. Butcher bulls saw 102.50 to 112.00. Next week the sale in Kamloops looks good as the calf bookings are coming in plus the yearlings are still rolling in. Lots of room for Butcher cows and bulls if you have to sell them.
