Market Report for Vanderhoof August 31st Regular Sale

Incredible sale here on Friday with almost 1400hd received, quality was exceptional. We kicked off with Tatalrose Ranch (Burns Lk) and a great ringload of 860 lb strs at 191.50, 711 lb strs at 224.00, 706 lb hfrs reached 189.75 and how about their 2030 lb blk bull crashing 120.00. Singletree Farm (Fort Fraser) showed powerfull Ang x steers at 873 lbs worth 190.00, 789 lb strs hit 204.50. Linda Sue Kerr (Telkwa) saw her 882 lb strs fetch 184.50. Seida's Dairy Farm (PG) had 946 lb strs mark 181.00, 936 lb hfrs at 170.00. Little Valley Farms (Van) brought 663 lb Ang x strs worth 226.50, 590 lb hfrs at 198.00. Valley Creek Ranch (Houston) had a whopping set of 1101 lb Hereford/Angus strs climb to 170.75, 997 lb strs at 179.25, 846 lb strs all the way to 188.25 and a 2045 lb red bull from Valley Creek pushed to 118.50. Siegmund Finke (PG) saw his 1016 lb strs crack 176.75. Ray and Joyce Millar (Ft Fraser) had a batch of 753 lb hfrs strike 182.25. Max Schultz (PG) showed 731 lb hfrs that forced 184.50, 640 lb hfrs up to 192.00. Poole Farms (Van) filled the ring with 658 lb Simmental hfrs that raced to 194.75, 485 lb hfrs at 204.50. Jim Griffith (Van) with a good draft of 656 lb hfrs trading at 193.50. Phil and Carol Klassen (Van) gathered their 821 lb hfrs and sold them at 177.25, 944 lb hfrs settled at 171.25. The butcher trade holding strong, we had over 200 cows and bulls like the 1367 lb cows from Clint and Deanna Lambert (Burns Lk) holding the pace at 85.00. Gaylon McKee (Van) had 1375 lb Simmental x cows bring 87.00. Dieleman Ranch (Telkwa) with 1444 lb cows at 85.25. Art Wiens (Van) 1880 lb red bull hit 115.25. Wikkstra Farms (Telkwa) had a 2070 lb Char bull reach 115.00 but the top of the butcher bull trade belongs to Keith and Kathy Walker (Burns Lk) with a 2040 lb red bull maxing out at 122.00! Not enough calves here to give a good read but we do have over 250 calves booked in for the 14th , along with a good string of yearlings and butcher stock.
