KAMLOOPS SALE, TUESDAY, AUGUST 28th, 2018
With total receipts just under 500 hd, the excitement was huge with lots of cattle and every buyer chair filled! It was wild start to finish. Brian Hartley, here from Malakwa, brought us a really nice set of calves. His 425 lb Shorthorn X calves raced up to 245.00 and his lighter end s/c, at 375 lb, saw 257.50. Keith Will had 435 lb h/c top 225.00. Ed Roberson set a pace with his 519 lb Longhorn / Simm X s/c that hit 217.00 and his pen of 376 lb h/c reached 242.00. Alan Lanfranco, from Langley, was in with some fancy 480 lb h/c that raced up to 218.00. Jim Langelaan, who rolled in from Chilliwack, brought top quality 558 lb h/c that notched 211.00 and his solid 656 lb s/c ran right up to 208.00. Colin & Julie Holt, from the Bar 07 Ranch, had a pen of 830 lb strs top 195.25. Terry Johnson from Armstrong, had 1060 lb strs top 171.00 and his fancy pen of quality Black Angus / Char X hfrs, at 888 lb, reached 181.00. Jim Haughton brought us some heavy 1153 lb Angus strs that sold at 161.50. Dalgliesh Ranching had some of solid strs, their group of 920 lb Blk Angus strs hit 185.00. Alex Piquette from Heffley Creek, had 800 lb Angus X strs top 194.25, his 693 lb strs marched to 212.75 and his 743 lb hfrs powered right up to 187.00. The Indian Gardens Ranch set a pace on yearlings. Their 28 hd of 707 lb Angus X strs notched 211.50 and a top pen of their 755 lb strs broke the record at 210.25. ArrowHead Ranch had a pen of 597 lb Angus X hfrs raced up to 206.75, 28 hd of their incredible 667 lb hfrs saw 202.75 and a group of 778 lb hfrs that reached 188.50. Jason Churchill, from Westwold, brought 410 lb h/c that hit 235.00 and his 360 lb s/c saw 257.50. Deanfield Ranch’s powerful 986 lb Hereford strs topped 180.00 and their 900 lb strs reached 185.25. Leonard Demarchi’s 950 lb strs sold to 183.00. Lorne & Cindy Hulley’s 524 lb Angus X s/c hit 229.00. Jarl Whist, of Stump Lake, had 968 lb strs trade to 182.00. Shirley McCaig’s 1070 lb strs sold to 170.50. Double G Ranch was in with 828 lb blk strs that brought 189.75. Hartridge Ranch’s 955 lb strs sold to 181.50. Butcher cows and bulls were pretty much steady with last weeks sale. Paul & Karen Caissie had 1375 lb butcher cows trade to 87.00. The Turner Ranch had 1553 lb butcher cows that rolled up to 87.25. Wayne & Jill Hughes, from Lumby, had 1528 lb butcher cows trade to 86.50. The next sale in Kamloops will be Tuesday Sept 4, 2018. We already have 150 yearlings and 75 calves listed for this top sale. Butcher cows and bulls will also be featured.
