Vanderhoof Sale - Friday, May 18, 2018
Another beautiful sale day in Vanderhoof as we gathered and sold over 1200 hd. We kicked it off with a top pen off grass hfrs from John Bree (Telkwa) weighing 548 lbs and cracking 191.00, his 484 lb h/c reached 201.00. Doug Brophy (Vanderhoof) had 561 lb s/c climb to 223.00 while his 541 lb h/c settled at 193.00. In from Ken Fawcett (Vanderhoof) we saw 560 lb s/c worth 225.00 and 465 h/c at 199.00. HRH Ventures (Burns Lk) had a great batch of 572 lb h/c hit 193.50. Long Ridge Farm (Vanderhoof) saw their 603 lb h/c max out at 187.50. Peebles Ranch (Burns Lk) in with 637 lb char hfrs at 179.25, 548 lb h/c up to 194.00. We also had the opportunity to enjoy replacement type hfrs like Joyce and Gord Dickson’s Red X 751 lb hfrs who captured 191.00, Dickson’s 713 lb strs hit 209.00. Kevin Bailey (Vanderhoof) saw his 763 lb hfrs race to 180.00. Andy Meints (Houston) welcomed 171.00 for his 824 lb red hfrs. Garry Schock (PG) had 690 lb h/c bring 171.00. From Muir Stock Farms (Vanderhoof) we saw 814 lb hfrs strike 164.00. Down Under Ranch (Vanderhoof) with a great set of 684 lb Charolais hfrs notching 172.00. Carmella Farms (Vanderhoof) had 653 lb s/c at 217.00, 592 lb h/c mark 185.00 and 1464 lb butcher cows reached 93.25. Ed Hinchliffe (Smithers) brought 893 lb strs that forced 163.00. Derek Feldman (Endako) had some monster 1336 lb strs rock 139.25, 784 lb strs marked 196.50. Double Box Ranch (Burns Lk) saw their 697 lb strs hit 214.00. Darci Tiani (Willow River) had 721 lb strs at 201.75, 681 lb strs edged 215.75. Over 200 hd in for the butcher trade like the 1184 lb Hereford cows from Garrett Ranches (Vanderhoof) that traded for 92.75, Garrett’s 917 lb feeder cows brought 125.00. CTN Ranching (Fort Fraser) had 1299 lb cows reach 93.50 and a pair of 1768 lb bulls forced 113.75. Ron Crosby (Vanderhoof) had a 1955 lb bull reach 116.00. Tatalrose Ranch (Burns Lk) in with 1286 lb cows at 95.00. Russ McLarry (Burns Lk) with a 1925 lb black bull stretching to 117.00 and topping the bull trade is TK Cattle Company (Vanderhoof) with a 1685 lb Charolais bull at 118.50. Awesome job guys.
