Another honest display of the genuine quality beef cattle we love to market here in Vanderhoof. Big bunches of calves and we start off Northern Farm Products (PG) and their 558 Lb s/c setting the pace at $217.25, 656 Lb s/c at $211.25, 560 Lb blk X h/c reached $194.50. Mel Gulbranson (Vanderhoof) had 533 Lb s/c hit $233.00, 643 Lb s/c at $212.75, 437 Lb s/c up to $257.00. Mel's 595 Lb h/c brought $195.50, 520 Lb h/c at $205.50, 428 Lb h/c carried on to $220.00. Ridgeview Ranch (Fort St James) saw their 593 Lb s/c force $212.50, 557 Lb h/c settled at $194.00. Golden Meadows Ranch (Fort Fraser) in with red s/c weighing 652 Lbs and finding their value at $214.00, 595 Lb s/c at $218.00, 470 Lb s/c all the way to $245.00. Heifers from the same outfit weighing 484 Lbs reached $210.50, 439 Lb h/c brought $215.00. Also with red calves we saw Andy Meints (Houston) with his 597 Lb s/c trading to $217.25, 519 Lb s/c at $233.25 and 441 Lb s/c on up to $256.00. Russ McLarry (Ootsa Lk) in with 635 Lb s/c selling at $211.50 and a pen of 609 Lb bwf h/c soared to $193.25. Woodmere Cattle Co. (Telkwa) brought two loads in and their 579 Lb s/c marked $221.00, 526 Lb s/c hit $234.50, 533 Lb h/c notched $196.00, 467 Lb h/c managed $210.00. Geoff Stubbs (Fort Fraser) had 585 Lb s/c bring $216.00, 537 Lb h/c at $194.25. Lone Oak Ranch (Willow River) had 677 Lb s/c reach $211.00, 614 Lb h/c traded at $191.25. Several herds of Charolais influence calves like the Peebles Ranch(Burns Lk) with 592 Lb s/c hitting $223.00, 622 Lb s/c at $217.00, 457 Lb s/c all the way to $251.00. Larry Palmer (Burns Lk) with 576 Lb Char X s/c at $223.50, 478 Lb s/c climbed to $248.50. Staying with Char X calves we have Seven Up Ranch (Burns Lk) with 675 Lb s/c forcing $214.75, 565 Lb s/c at $226.00, 499 Lb s/c up to $242.00, 501 Lb Seven Up h/c hit $200.50. Another feature for our sale was Pooles Arrow Ranch (Punchaw) and their legendary Simmentals. Their 719 Lb s/c sold as a liner load for $209.50, 650 Lb s/c hit $212.50, 537 Lb s/c at $232.00. Woodpecker Ranch (Vanderhoof) with powerful blk X calves. Their 663 Lb s/c reached $212.25, 456 Lb s/c at $260.00, 634 Lb h/c hit $192.75, 458 Lb h/c climbed to $211.00. George Amendt (Danskin) had 574 Lb s/c bring $225.50, 508 Lb h/c at $196.50. Ed Walton (Smithers) had solid blk s/c at 621 Lbs demand $212.00, 605 Lb h/c at $191.50 and Ed's 1019 Lb blk heifers (exposed to bull) smashed $187.25! George Hofer (Vanderhoof) had 797 Lb YS fetch $206.00. For the butcher trade we had about 150 hd. Seven Up Ranch had 1391 Lb cows trade to $80.75 and an 1800 Lb Char bull at $101.50. David Burkholder (Burns Lk) saw his 2335 Lb Hereford bull hit $101.50. Keith and Alexis Hart (PG) brought a blk 2220 Lb bull reach $99.50. Robert and Vicki Ophus (Vanderhoof) in with 1530 Lb cows hitting $80.50. Katrina Ogier (Vanderhoof) had a 2380 Lb bull fetch $100.00. G and S Schwartz (PG) saw their 1853 Lb cows bring $81.00 and their 2215 Lb red bull hit $100.50. A very smooth sale start to finish, appreciate all the hard work and dedication from all the folks who make up this great industry. Over 1700 booked for next week and 400+ booked for the bred sale on November 17th and we're expecting1800 to cap the fall run on the 24th of November
