Vanderhoof Sale - Friday, Oct 20, 2017



Another week of harvest in for this year’s calf crop and all in all it’s holding together quite well. We kicked off with a ring full of Simm/Angus X s/c from Mountain View Ranch (Vanderhoof),544 lbs and they set the pace at 224.75, 622 lb s/c at 211.75, 496 lb s/c up to 230.25. Their h/c at 489 lb hit 209.75, 458 lb h/c climbed to 222.00. Robert and Vicki Ophus (Vanderhoof) HAD 595 LB BLK S/C BRING 215.50, 547 LB BLK S/C AT 225.50, 475 LB BLK H/C SETTLED AT 215.75. Pam McDonald (PG) brought a nice package of 475 lb red h/c worth 209.00. Robin Creek Dairy (Telkwa) saw their 652 lb s/c notch 214.00, 616 lb h/c at 196.50, 489 lb h/c up to 211.50 and a set of 526 lb red h/c right at 200.00. While you’re thinking red, let’s look at Wayne and Kathy Ray (Fort Fraser) and their 568 lb red s/c smashing 222.00, 503 lb red s/c hit 230.00, 405 lb red s/c all the way to 267.00. Their 548 lb red h/c landed at 200.00, 491 lb red h/c carried on to 207.00. Dan Storey (Quesnel) had a set of 510 lb blk s/c that traded for 235.00, 449 lb s/c at 261.75, 479 lb h/c marked 212.75 and 392 lb h/c up to 236.75. Art Wiens (Vanderhoof) saw his 646 lb red Simm X s/c demand 209.00. Jamie and Denise Wiens (Vanderhoof) with the same style of s/c at 601 lb bringing 214.00. Walk Cool (Vanderhoof) with 437 lb Saler s/c selling for 261.00, 403 lb s/c carried on to 231.50. Dieleman Ranch (Telkwa) had 670 lb s/c bring 200.00, 625 lb s/c at 206.75, 546 lb s/c at 227.75. Dan Fisher (Burns Lk) in with 669 lb s/c hitting 209.50, 624 lb h/c at 189.25. A.J. Forsythe (New Hazelton) had a set of 562 lb s/c bring 224.50. Ed Klassen (Vanderhoof) had 504 lb h/c reach 200.25. Brian & Erica Adams (Ft. Fraser) saw their 590 lb s/c trade at 214.00, 504 lb h/c at 205.00. M. A. Adams (Ft. Fraser) had 575 lb s/c sell at 219.00. Andres Grunthal Equipment (PG) had 684 lb s/c hit 207.00 and 614 lb s/c at 210.00. Gary & Julie Blackwell (Burns Lk) brought 619 lb s/c that notched 214.75, 575 lb hc right at 200.00. Tom Chapman (Houston) in with 569 lb s/c worth 220.00, 469 lb s/c at 255.50, 552 lb h/c at 200.00 and 457 lb h/c all the way to 221.50. Lance & Kristine Brown (Hixon) saw their 461 lb s/c reach 246.00 and their 1430 lb butcher cows brought 84.50. John Vanzanten (Burns Lake) had 617 lb s/c mark 208.50, 601 lb h/c at 192.25. He also had some 1615 lb cows bring 87.25. C4 Ranching (Vanderhoof) had a 2075 lb red bull hit 95.00. Lori Edwards had a 1970 lb blk Gelbvieh bull climb to 99.50. Don Koshel (PG) had a 1995 lb red bull hit 94.00. Sharndons Farm (Fort St. James) saw their 2135 lb red bull soar to 99.00. Walker Cattle Co. (Vanderhoof) in with a 2180 lb red bull that landed on 100.00. Marie Brade (Vanderhoof) with a pen of 1289 lb cows trading for 85.00. Les Ellis (Telkwa) had 1491 lb Hereford cows worth 84.50. Hatch Creek Ranch (Topley) with 1523 lb cows at 82.50. Topping the bull trade was Pooles Arrow Ranch (Punchaw) with a 1945 lb Simmental bull hitting 102.00. Great effort by the crew, wonderful display of cattle and a big thank you to the buyers for holding up this market and for all the work you do getting the cattle moved. Over 3000 booked for this weeks presort and 2500 expected for November 3rd.
