Vanderhoof Sale - Friday, Nov 25, 2016



VANDERHOOF REGULAR SALE NOV 25TH

A very welcome turn in the market on Friday where we presented over 1500 calves to an eager crew of buyers. To get them going we sent Clint Lamberts’s (Burns Lake) 584 lb Char X s/c and they ate them up at 188.75. How about 525 lb s/c at 211.75 and 408 lb s/c thru the roof 233.25. Clint’s 467 lb h/c struck 190.50, 550 lb h/c hit 184.50 and lets try 429 lb h/c reaching 200.00. We saw a fantastic selection of Red calves like the Rim Rock Ranch (Vanderhoof) with 467 lb s/c marking 220.25, 415 lb s/c up to 226.75. Rim Rock h/c  at 439 lb brought 198.00, 377 lb h/c hung in there at 199.00.
Doug & Cindy Brophy (Vanderhoof) here with bigger Red s/c at 633 lb finding value at 179.75. 579 lb s/c edged 187.25, 498 lb s/c sold at 217.50. 429 lb s/c all the way to 225.00.
Brophy’s 499 lb Red h/c demanded 188.00. 443 lb h/c carried on to 191.00. C4 Ranching (Vanderhoof) with good Red 505 lb s/c racing to 199.00, 459 lb s/c climbing to 226.00. Walker Cattle Company put us in awe with a set of Red 646 lb s/c driving the bid to 178.25. 608 lb s/c brought 182.75, 540 lb s/c managed 198.75. Walker’s Blk h/c at 554 lbs forced 172.00. 618 lb Red h/c hit 163.75 and 495 lb h/c settled at 186.00. Our favourite Ring man Alex Kulchar was there to watch his and Julie’s pen of Tan 648 lb s/c run to 176.75. A liner load of Angus X 535 lb s/c from Little Valley Farms sold via the in-house video at 213.00. Of course we had lots if quality Blk calves to choose from. Kevin Bailey (Vanderhoof) topped the sale with his Blk 713 lb s/c at 170.75. Kevin’s 630 lb Blk h/c solid at 160.50.
Triple N Ranch (Burns Lake)  marketing in BC for the first time enjoyed 210.50 for their pen of 539 lb Blk s/c. Levi & Jessica Walker  saw their Blk 575 lb s/c reach 188.00 and their 475 lb h/c soared to 194.25. Our yearling market held together
nicely for David Reimer’s 942 lb open heifers who traded at 150.75, 853 lb heifers up to 164.00. Tatalrose 771 lb heifers brought 168.00, 737 lb heifers up onto 171.00.The butcher trade off a bit from last week and we had over 200 to put thru like the C4 Ranching Red 1394 lb cows hitting 78.50.
Colonel Anderson’s (Fort Fraser) 2020 lb bull struck 96.00. Carmella Farms (Vanderhoof) with a Blk 1925 lb bull stopping the bid at 102.00. Murray Richards (Prince George) saw his 1449 lb cows reach 81.25. A 2100 lb Red Rim Rock Ranch bull topped 104.00. And how about the fleshy 1642 lb SimmX cows in from Art & Audrey Weins (Vanderhoof) putting  a lid on the butcher trade today at 86.00.
