Vanderhoof Sale - Friday, Oct 21, 2016



VANDERHOOF REGULAR  SALE  OCTOBER 21 ,2016

Just under 2000 calves on offer, the front row was busy and it made for an uplifting sale on Friday. Powerful Dielman Ranch steers calves from Telkwa hit the ring weighing 639 lbs and forced the bid to 154.00, 669 lb s/c traded at 151.00, 554 lb s/c on up to 160.00, 615 lb settled at 157.50. Bill Evans ( Fort Fraser) had 673 lb Red Angus X s/c bring 152.00, 580 lb s/c  climbed to 160.00. His 560 lb h/c sold at 139.00, 493 lb as high as 151.00. Hatch Creek Ranch ( Topley) saw their Black 690 s/c command a bid of 154.00. From Telkwa we had 527 lb h/c from Colleen Helps hit 148.00. 607 lb Black Angus s/c from Woodpecker Ranch ( Vanderhoof) notched  159.00 while their 616 lb h/c settled at 139.00. We go to Burns Lake where Steven McEntire found his 615 lb s/c to be worth 160.00 and his 401 lb h/c 161.00.  Raenne Macdougall (Vanderhoof) in with Strong Black s/c at  in with Strong Black s/c at 511 lbs marking 179.00. Phillip Perry & Sons ( Prince George) saw their 445 lb s/c race to 186.00. From the same outfit 468 lb h/c edged 170.00. and 412 lb  hit 161.00. Back to Burns Lake with Kathy Shatz 551 lb s/c hitting 170.00, while her 531 lb h/c traded to 151.00. A. Reichert (Prince George) had a pen of Black 602 lb h/c mark 138.50. On to Fort Fraser Cattle with Wayne & Kathy Ray bringing good Red 547 lb s/c selling at 165.50, 470 lb s/c all the way to 180.00 and 547 lb s/c selling at 165.50, 470 lb s/c all the way to 180.00 and the 575 lb stopped the bids at 138.00. Up from Quesnel, Dan Story saw his Black Angus X 682 lb  s/c force 155.00, 482 lb s/c soared to 187.50.  His 505 lb h/c landed on 150.00 and his 415 lb h/c kept on going to 158.00. S.R & M.A. Adams  (Fort Fraser) had 588 lb s/c hit 164.00. Coyote Cattle Company ( Smithers) brought 567 lb s/c that rung the bell at 177.00. Gary & Julie Blackwell ( Burns Lake ) with his big 695 lb Black Angus X s/c at 150.00 and 630 lb h/c settling at 147.00. Back to Smithers we find Ed Walton growing 602 lb s/c worth 166.50 and 541 lb h/c trading at 151.50. Art Weins ( Vanderhoof) with classic Simm X 673 lb s/c notching 157.00 and then 728 lb s/c keeping up at 157.00 while the 623 lb s/c went on to 170.00. Almost 300 yearlings found their way to town like Clayton Steiner’s (Fraser Lake) 1135 lb STR setting the pace at 132.00, 950 lb steers up to 147.50. His 948 lb heifers  pushed the bid to 138.75 and the big 1003 lb HFR right there at 137.00. Skyline Ranch (Takysie Lake ) had 1048 lb STR mark 131.25 and 967 lb STR all the way to 143.50. Max Schultz in with 799 lb HFR bringing 139.00, 831 lb HFR riding along at 137.00 and the 726 lb HFR driving the bid to 138.00. Again thank you to our yearling contributors for the great finish to our yearling run. Angus X butcher  cows from Hatch Creek Ranch tipped the scales at 1439 lbs and stopped the bids at 75.25 while their 1177 lb cows kept on untion 77.00. David Wruth ( Vanderhoof) had 1259 lb Angus cows hit 75.00. George Amendt ( Danskin) watched his Red 2025 lb bull demand 107.00. Les Ellis (Telkwa) with a 2160 lb Hereford bull worth 99.50.
 Victor Bateson came from Burns Lake with 1118 lb cows notching 74.00. George Edwards (Prince George) had 1591 lb cows mark 75.50 and his 2355 lb Red bull sold at 98.00. The crew did a great job maintaining a pace , a big thank you to the buyers and sellers for another top notch sale in Vanderhoof. We are looking at over 2200 head for next weeks presort and 2300 plus  for the November 4th Regular sale.
