VANDERHOOF SALE  OCTOBER 7 ,2016

1300 top quality calves this Friday, the weather was good, cattle looked great, prices held steady and slightly better in some weight/classes. From Burns Lake, Evelyn Seigner sent Red 666 lb s/c setting the pace at 166.00. 552 lb s/c climbed to 180.00. 479 lb s/c all the way to 190.00. Good Red heifers from Seigner at 550 lb brought 153.00, 509 lb h/c steady at 154.00. Also from Burns Lake,
Glen & Denise Stewart saw their Red 528 lb h/c race to 151.00 and their 431 lb h/c right on to 164.00. Tom Chapman came from Houston with 585 lb s/c hitting 174.50. 373 lb s/c on up to 205.00. Chapman’s 482 lb h/c traded at 183.00. From Fort St. James we welcomed Ron Buck’s 449 lb s/c that sold at 193.00, 489 lb s/c notched 188.00. Staying with Buck we saw 451 lb h/c trade at 172.00, 372 lb h/c topped 183.00. Over to Prince George we saw great calves from Cal Hinton at 621 lb, his s/c  marked 179.50. 526 lb s/c up to 185.25. Still from Prince George Mike Reiter had 536 lb s/c  find value at 180.50. 558 lb h/c settled at 153.50.  Andres Grunthal Equipment ( Prince George) saw their 730 lb s/c reach 160.50, 664 lb s/c brought 166.25. Wayne Mueller ( Sinclair Mills) had classy Red h/c at 538 lbs bring 152.00. From right close to Vanderhoof Randall Dering saw his 456 lb s/c mark 192.00.  Alex & Julie Kulchar (Vanderhoof ) had solid Char X s/c weigh 598 lbs hit 180.00. 574 lb Tan h/c sold at 156.00. Also from Vanderhoof  was Dave Johnson with576 lb Red s/c climbing to 178.00. 578 lb Tan s/c all the way to 182.00. Down Under Ranch, Erin Miller (Vanderhoof )brought Char X 598 lb s/c that sold at 173.00. 576 Tan h/c settled at 152.00. Just over 100 butcher cows averaged 80.00. 11 butcher bulls averaged 104.00. Not enough yearlings yet to get accurate market readings. The sale ran well, thank you to all contributors, staff and of course the buyers.
