KAMLOOPS SALE—TUESDAY AUGUST 26

Kamloops blew the doors off this week with just under 1000 head of cattle on offer. Yearlings dominated the sale receipts but a good supply of calves were also on offer and the buyers loved them. Len Tonn from Kamloops put the butcher trade on fire, selling 2030 lb butcher bulls at 148.25. Their 1625 lb butcher cows raced to 117.00. The Turner Ranch’s 1380 lb Hereford cows hit 116.25. The Stevens Ranch steers from Cache Creek, heavy 1316 lb black angus steers powered to 144.75. Dirk & Diane Vandermeer had 1223 lb black angus cows to 117.50 and 1405 lb cows to 118.50. Brian & Kim Stuart had 1395 lb butcher cows mark 119.75. Don & Dianna Heighes’ 1360 lb butcher cows powered to 116.75. Cliff Filmore from Westbridge saw his 1017 lb steers power to 195.75, their 885 lb steers hit 207.50. Russell Able topped our bull market with 2130 lb bulls to 149.00. McEwans Farms from Pemberton saw their young bred cows reach 1850.00 dollars per head, the buyers loved their calves too, their 622 lb s/c’s marked 239.00. Their beautiful h/c’s traded to 225.00 and weighed 580 lbs. Ray & Phillis Bertolli set the trend today as 35 head of their 806 lb steers notched 225.50, the heavy boys weighing 964 lbs topped our trade at 204.50. Jim & Laura Symens put a top on our sale, their liner load of 875 lb black angus steers reached 213.50. Dave Cunningham’s 778 lb steers hit 226.50. Lee Cunningham’s 971 lb steers hit 201.00. Ingo Meirhofer’s 859 lb angus X steers sold to 213.50. Hugh & Marilyn Fallis saw their 977 lb top quality steers mark 198.25. Dean & Brenda Maxwell from Lumby had 1219 lb butcher cows mark 118.00 and 1665 lb cows at 117.00. Ed & Michelle Gardner from Copper Creek Cattle Co. set the buyers on the edge of their seats as a complete liner load of their 805 lb spay heifers marked 204.00. Judy Hammond’s 568 lb s/c marked 235.00, her 515 lb h/c’s notched 224.00. From Langley today Ken Ayre had 765 lb s/c’s power to 226.00 and 634 lb black angus s/c’s mark 232.50. Joe Waddlegger from Birch Island filled the ring with 48 powerful steers weighing 971 lbs and they traded to 200.50. Libby Toman’s 795 lb black heifers hit 205.00, while Ted Fowler’s 795 lb steers sold to 224.50.John Grawehr’s top quality 564 lb steers marked 249.50.
