The Vanderhoof All Breeds Bull Sale was held on Saturday April 12. This was the 50th anniversary of the sale and the sale committee celebrated the occasion with an appreciation barbeque on Friday April 11 and numerous give-aways to registered buyers and bull buyers throughout the sale. The stands were packed with eager buyers and the quality of the 56 bulls offered was top notch. In the Charolais division, the high seller was from TK Cattle Company. TKCC Madrid 9M led the sale off by reaching $10,500.00, the average on yearling Charolais bulls was $6,790.00. The Simmental line up was led by the high seller from Crosby Cattle. XBAR Gambler 12M, a powerful, dark red bull rocketed up to $17,500.00. The average on yearling and two year old Simmentals was $8,433.00. The Gelbvieh bulls saw a consignment from Crooked Creek Ranch, MAZ Max 48M top the group by reaching a price of $12,500.00. The average for the day on yearling and two year old Gelbvieh bulls was $8,310.00. Hereford two year old bulls were led by a bull from Copper-T Ranch. Copper-T General Lee 6L sold for $7,500.00 and the Hereford average was $6,500.00. The Black Angus offering saw a bull from KN Farms, KNF Slingshot Definition 28M catch the high price of the day at $12,500.00. The average for Black Angus, yearlings and two year olds was $10,010.00. The Red Angus section of the sale featured two bulls from North 40 Red Angus sharing the high seller badge. Red North 40 Goldeye 56M and Red North 40 Fifth Sense 64M both reached $11,000.00. Overall, the Red Angus yearling and two year old bulls averaged $8,760.00. Congratulations to the contributors and the bull sale committee on a top notch sale.
