Steady receipts here in Kamloops for the first sale in December with 750 hd on offer. There were lots of top quality calves and prices were strong. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co. started our Butcher cow sale with their liner load of 46 good Hereford cows 1300 lb that hit 170.00, the second load of 1270 lb cows sold to 171.00 and 29 hd of their younger 1112 lb cows brought 220.00 and then the big cows 1469 lb hit 171.75. Indian Gardens Ranch put the power to our incredible calf sale. Their 768 lb s/c rolled to 373.00 then the ring was filled with 701 lb Angus s/c that notch 389.00. 31 hd of their 628 lb s/c bring 420.00 and then another ring full of powerful 585 lb Angus x h/c raced to 410.00. John & Karen Johnson came to town with a top load of calves, their Simm x s/c 601 lb hit a record high of 425.00. Allan & Jamie Johnson with their fancy 534 lb Simm x s/c that rolled to 451.00 and the 500 lb h/c saw 424.00. John Grawher from Clinton had 617 lb Red Angus s/c that reached 420.00, the 565 lb s/c notch 449.00 and a ring full of their 520 lb s/c hit 468.00. Trail Creek Ranch had 677 lb Angus x b/c that sold to 350.00 and their 695 lb Gelb h/c topped 341.00. Archie & Dallas Deneault had 733 lb fancy s/c top 379.00 and their 695 lb Blk Angus h/c rolled to 365.00. The Mound Ranch of Clinton sold their 505 lb Blk Angus s/c for 467.00. Peter Pooli of Valemount saw his 750 lb Tan s/c traded to 350.00. Marv Hodge had 690 lb Angus s/c top 387.50 and his 605 lb Red x h/c sold to 386.00. Stephan & Yolanda Jontz of Six Mile Creek Ranch had 632 lb Angus x s/c that reached 420.00, the 583 lb s/c topped 450.00 and the 485 lb s/c sold to 496.00. The quality Jontz h/c hit 379.50, while the 556 lb h/c reached 422.00. Bruce Prebushewski’s 575 lb s/c sold to 354.00. Gary Andrew’s had 679 lb fancy h/c hit 737.00 and the 608 lb h/c brought 381.00. The 60 Ranch Cattle Co. had 505 lb Blk h/c that sold to 415.00 and the 650 lb Blk h/c raced to 374.00. Ron Eden had 969 lb Angus strs top 340.00, the 600 lb s/c rolled to 450.00 and the 527 lb Angus s/c notch 475.00. Leighton McCluskey from Lumby with had excellent 667 lb h/c marking 371.00. EJ Blackwell came to town with replacement quality 736 lb h/c that set the pace at 347.50. John & Kate Anderson had heavy strs 1063 lb trading to 302.00. The Sugar Loaf Ranch saw their 770 lb Blk Angus x s/c setting in at 370.00. The Deanfield Ranch filled the ring with 1485 lb Butcher cows that hit 173.00 and 2 of their 1045 lb hfrs saw 300.00. Buse Creek Ranch 1670 lb Red Simm x Butcher cows sold to 177.00. Laura Neale had 1415 lb cows trade to 172.00. John & Karen Johnson’s 1891 lb Butcher bulls topped the day at 197.50. Dylan Kelly of Bridesville had 1788 lb Blk cows sell to 169.00 and his 1540 lb top kill cows brought 174.00. Fred Bowers saw his 1574 lb cows sell to 174.50. Shane Muir’s 1825 lb Blk bull brought 197.00. Frolek Cattle Co. had 2237 lb bulls that rolled to 194.00. The top Holstein cows reach 137.50.
