KAMLOOPS SALE - TUESDAY OCTOBER 23RD
Huge receipts in Kamloops this week as just under 1800 head of cattle hit the show ring today.  Butcher cows and bulls led us to 400 yearlings and then 1300 calves were showcased.  McGillvray Land & Livestock saw their 1130 lb. cows trade to 63.50 and 1403 lb. cows to 64.75 and 1623 lb. cows to 66.25.  The Ashton Creek Ranch 2050 lb. butcher cows hit 68.50.  Ralph & Irene Thomsen built the fire under the yearling trade their powerful 1053 lb. Hereford steers raced to 117.75.  44 head of their 950 lb. steers all Herefords powered to 124.25.  19 head of their 924 lb. Hereford heifers hit 122.00.  Terry Inskip with a top pen of 903 lb. Red Baldie heifers topping 119.25, with 849 lb. heifers to 121.50.  Mrs. Edith Currie set the trend today with 938 lb. Hereford steers trading to 123.50.  A tremendous line up of calves today dominated the sale receipts.  Tom and Linda Hancock’s 618 lb. Angus s/c hit 144.25, their 580 lb. s/c brought 148.50.  Richard Hug’s 629 lb. Red steers hit 143.75 and the 613 lb. h/c sold to 135.00.  Maurice Alain of Valemont had 735 lb. steers hit 133.75.  Louise Demarni and Brian Foley’s 658 lb. Black s/c reached 142.75.  Ron & Andrea Hall with heavy 692 lb. s/c trading to 137.00.  Len & Dave Waversek with a top pen of Hereford s/c 639 lb. topping 140.00.  Ken & Laverne MacDougall with heavy 784 lb. Black & Red Angus s/c setting 134.00, their 606 lb. h/c roared to 134.00.  Bob & Barb Harrison’s top quality 741 lb. Char X s/c raced to 136.25, their 6614 lb. Char h/c topped 135.50.  Charles Walkem’s heavy 730 lb. Black Angus s/c topped 136.75 and 636 lb. s/c saw 143.00.  Bruce Gallot’s heavy 6610lb. Black Angus s/c marked 140.00  33 head of their 561 lb. s/c raced to 150.75, their 560 lb. Black heifers hit 138.00.  Allan & Ginger Glen had a top group of 616 lb. Angus steers hit 142.75.  Indian Gardens Ranch saw their top pen of 477 lb. Black s/c trade to 162.00.  66 head of their 444 lb. s/c reached 166.75 with 424 lb. h/c to 150.00.  The Quesnel Ranch from Lumby set a fire today. Their 700 lb. s/c hit 137.75.  The Gardens Creek Ranch today put the buyers on the edge of their seats as they filled the ring with 107 top quality Black & Bwf s/c 600 lb. blew the door’s off at 147.75.  38 head of their 521 lb. s/c powered to 153.00.  Their 420 lb. s/c hit 170.00.  41 head of their 525 lb. Black & Bwf h/c raced to 139.00.  The Seven O Ranch today presented one powerful group of calves with just under 200 head.  Their 638 lb. load of Char X s/c topped 145.25, and Mary Curnow’s 800 lb. Red s/c sold to 130.00.
