1300 head of cattle were sold through the ring in Vanderhoof on Friday, with 393 bred heifers and cows being featured. Clayton Steiner topped the day with outstanding Red Simm bred hfrs selling in three lots and commanding 4,600.00, 4,550.00 and 4,300.00. Larenia Muehlen featured powerful Blk Simm hfrs for 4,100.00. Gerrit Keegstra had a set of Red Simm hfrs reach 4,000.00. David Burkholder sold a sort of BBF hfrs for 3,750.00 and Dieleman Ranch Ltd. had Tan hfrs reach 3,750.00. The bred cows were led by Jared Reimer’s 2 and 3 year olds, a group of Blk cows reached 4,000.00, two other groups of Blk cows sold for 3,900.00 and a group of RBF cows made it to 3,850. Liz Legebokoff’s top set of RBF cows hit 3,850.00 and her top group of Blk cows sold for 3,750.00. The calf market saw some of the highest prices of the fall run. Dieleman Ranch Ltd. had some 652 lb s/c race to 407.00 and 580 lb s/c commanded 440.00, the 488 lb s/c were all the way up to 490.00, some 1003 lb hfrs brought 283.00. C4 Ranching Ltd. sold 595 lb Angus s/c for 420.00, the 546 lb s/c brought 430.00 and 484 lb s/c broke through to 502.00, the h/c weighing 544 lbs saw 412.00 and 364 lb h/c were 422.50. Wolf and Leanne Hummel had 590 lb Exotic x s/c bring 421.00 and 538 lb s/c rose to 446.00, some h/c weighing 454 lbs settled at 440.00. Paul and Deb Illes sold Blk h/c at 562 lbs for 402.50. Kerr Cattle Co. had hfrs weighing 929 lbs bring 306.00 and 835 lb hfrs saw 312.00. Ryon and Narel Kusler had their Blk Angus s/c at 658 lbs hit 402.00 and s/c at 568 made it to 440.. the 580 lb h/c brought 387.00 and 499 lb h/c marched to 412.00. Rim Rock Ranch Ltd sold Red s/c at 564 lbs for 445.00 and 496 lb s/c balanced at 496.00, some 433 lb s/c rocketed up to 527.50, h/c weighing 483 lbs marched to 437.00 and slaughter cows weighing 1348 lbs hit 170.50, while the heavier sort at 1642 lbs settled at 168.00. Tatalrose Ranch Inc. sold 872 lb Gelbvieh x strs for 340.00 and 783 lb hfrs were 320.00. Ian and Annie Van Metre featured Blk s/c that pressed the scales down at 684 lbs and sold for 400.00 and 579 lb s/c brought 440.00, the 525 lb s/c raced to 460.00, the h/c at 550 lbs were 406.00 and 507 lb h/c were 421.00. Colonel Anderson had Angus x s/c at 554 lbs bring 440.00 and some 468 lb s/c climbed to 482.00. Clayton Steiner had 1430 lb slaughter cows hit 170.00. Brian Carneige sold an 1825 lb Blk bull for 181.00 and David Johnson from Fraser Lake had a Red bull at 2080 lbs bring 178.00.
