Vanderhoof Sale - Friday, Sep 20, 2024



There were 665 head of cattle sold through the ring in Vanderhoof on Friday, with the majority being calves. Marc Bekar led off with Angus x  s/c at 479 lbs returning 447.50 and s/c at 415 lbs hitting 470.00, the h/c that weighed 449 lbs saw 390.00. Danny Boehler had Gelbvieh s/c that pressed down the scales at 723 lbs march to 342.00 and 605 lb s/c were 374.00. Tom Chapman had strong Blk Angus s/c at 625 lbs race to 380.00 and 558 lb s/c for 407.00, his 569 lb h/c commanded 352.00 and the h/c at 474 lbs climbed to 381.00. Sawley Deep Creek Ranch showcased 465 lb s/c that sold for 432.50 and the 375 lb s/c were 495.00, h/c that weighed 394 lbs were all the way up to 407.00 and some heiferettes at 1070 lbs reached 220.00. Canyon Ranch sold 800 lb Simm x hfrs for 302.00. Lyle Litke had Blk s/c weighing 545 lbs hit 400.00 and some 423 lb s/c were 465.00, the 453 lb h/c settled at 375.00. Matt and Barb Mazereeuw had fancy Gelbvieh s/c at 658 lbs power to 370.00 and 563 lb s/c made it to 400.00, the 638 lb h/c saw 334.00 and h/c at 468 lbs reached 385.00. A. A. Nunweiler tested the yearling market with Red strs that weighed 987 lbs and returned 300.00 and 790 lb strs for 335.00, the 969 lb hfrs caught 272.00 and 791 lb hfrs rose to 307.00. Vicki Siddall’s Blk s/c weighing 568 lbs caught 398.00 and some h/c at 463 lbs were 392.50. Rolf and Susanna Tschuor from the Haney Mountain Ranch had a strong set of s/c at the sale, the 576 lb beauties powered to 409.25, the 502 lb s/c were 418.00 and 411 lbs were 485.00, a sort of cows that weighed 1383 lbs sold for 179.00. Vandenberg Dairy had s/c weighing 603 lbs return 377.00 and some s/c at 508 lbs reached 404.00, the h/c that weighed 635 lbs made it to 330.00 and h/c at 551 lbs were 334.00 and 430 lb h/c were up to 370.00. Andy and Margaret Williams featured Simm x s/c at 604 lbs that rang the bell at 380.50 and the 521 lb s/c shot up to 416.00, h/c at 453 lbs commanded 391.00 and some good cows at 1531 lbs reached 181.00 and another sort at 1453 lbs were 179.00. Liz Legebokoff had good Simm x s/c at 629 lbs hit 375.00 and 557 lb s/c that caught 400.00 and the 483 lb s/c were 420.00, some 506 lb h/c shot up to 350.00. Luke Muehlen sold open hfrs at 992 lbs for 390.00 and Walker Cattle Co. topped the bull market with a Blk bull at 1910 lbs that sold for 210.00. Thanks to the contributors and the buyers for the quality cattle and the good prices! The staff and crew did an excellent job getting through the cattle in short order.
