The first sale of the year in Vanderhoof was held on Friday and featured 450 head of cattle and included just over 100 slaughter cows and bulls. Liz Legebokoff led off the sale with replacement quality Simm x hfrs, the Blk sort at 686 lbs powered to 357.00 and the fancy Red hfrs that weighed 664 lbs raced to 384.00. Garrett Ranches Ltd. featured British hfrs at 782 lbs for 312.50, some 665 lb hfrs saw 344.00 and the sort at 598 lbs hit 364.00. Holly Hoffos had Blk strs weighing 738 lbs ring the bell at 360.00 and some 593 lb strs climbed to 412.00. Dave Johnson treated us to Char x strs at 546 lbs for 430.00 and 521 lb Char x hfrs that caught 390.00. Lance Muehlen had solid Simm x strs at 742 lbs settle at 350.25. Russ McLarry sold British strs at 669 lbs for 380.00 and the 603 lb strs settled at 394.00. Larry Palmer had a load of Char x hfrs in today, the 611 lb hfrs stormed up to 380.00 and the sort at 540 lbs high marked at 400.00 and some 453 lb hfrs made it all the way up to 440.00. Murray Richards sold 499 lb hfrs for 405.00. Levi Walker had a pair of 995 lb hfrs sell for 260.00. Poole Farms Ltd sold good Simm x cows at 1420 lbs for 154.00 and T K Cattle Co had a pair of Char cows that weighed 1503 lbs hit 150.00. Andy Meints had a big Red bull that weighed 2460 lbs bring 169.00, Ken Isaac with a Blk bull at 2055 lbs bringing 169.00 and J and R Ranch with a Simm bull at 2025 lbs for 169.00 topped the bull market today.
