A little lighter receipts this week with 868 hd in Kamloops. Butcher cows and bulls were a large part of the sale. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co. put the power to our yearling trade with 866 lb hfrs that rolled to 270.00 and the 1020 lb Hereford hfrs marking 227.00. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co. (Gang Ranch Division) saw their powerful Blk Angus s/c 535 lb set the pace at 380.00, 21 hd of their fancy 470 lb Blk Angus s/c raced to 409.00 and a ring full of their top 458 lb h/c set in at 350.00 and the 458 lb h/c notched 381.00. The BC Cattle Co. came to town with a liner load of top calves, their pen of 733 lb replacement quality h/c raced to 270.00. Ron Eden filled the ring with 563 lb Angus s/c marking 372.00, then 41 hd of his 464 lb Angus x s/c topped 430.50. Mark & Cara Haywood Farmer had 748 lb Char s/c that sold to 335.00, their 565 lb Char s/c brought 378.00 and the 423 lb Char h/c hit 405.00. Bernese Meadows Ranch had 641 lb Red h/c sold to 292.50. Wayne & Rhonda MacDonald from the Bar FX Ranch saw their 680 lb Blk s/c roll to 340.00. Doug McLeod of Extreme Cattle Co. had 495 lb Blk Angus s/c sell to 405.00 and the 668 lb Blk h/c traded to 310.00. Jim Gooch had 838 lb Blk strs bring 280.00 and the 690 lb Red s/c hit 345.00. Lea Ronayne’s 650 lb h/c reached 300.00. Bud & Cathy Gottfriedson’s 608 lb h/c hit 321.00. The Maiden Creek Ranch show cased yearlings as their 1024 lb Blk Angus strs set the stage at 269.00 and then 22 hd of the 917 lb strs rolled to 286.00. Joyce Doll sold her big 585 lb Red Angus s/c for 372.00 and her 400 lb h/c saw 400.00. A good volume of cows traded today. Fred Sterling saw his 1620 lb Butcher cows trade to 140.00. Buse Creek Ranch had 1607 lb Simm x cows bring 139.00. The Sealin Creek Ranch’s 1360 lb Blk Angus cows hit 143.00. Patricia Andrew’s 1723 lb kill cows sold to 139.25.
