The stock yards in Kamloops was wall to wall cattle as just under 1160 hd hit the sale show ring. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co. hit the ring with a top set of calves. 20 h/c 553 lb topped 301.00, 38 hd of their fancy Hereford h/c 543 lb raced to 301.00 and their 2 year old Hereford hfrs 922 lb reach 218.00. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co. (Gang Ranch Division) saw their 978 lb 2 yr old hfrs trade to 216.00. The Nicola Ranch had 1084 lb 2 yr old hfrs set the record at 206.00. Indian Gardens Ranch presented 150 powerful s/c, their pen of 57 Angus x s/c 654 lb topped 357.00 and their pen of 59 s/c 588 lb recorded 370.00. The Nicola Ranch also had 1940 lb Butcher bulls top 166.00, their 1238 lb Butcher cows raced to 148.00. Tom & Linda Hancock saw their 753 lb Angus x strs hit 300.00, their 584 lb strs topped 370.00. Werner Stump of Crystal Lake Ranch had 843 lb Red x strs that hit 280.00, the 933 hfrs reached 234.00 and the 1600 lb powerful kill cows hit 147.00. The Turner Ranch’s quality 715 lb Blk Angus grasser strs hit 304.50 and their 686 lb hfrs sold to 270.00. The Whatshan Cattle Co. had 478 lb s/c that saw 395.00, their 425 lb s/c set in at 425.00. The 8 Mile Ranch put the very top on our Butcher bull trade with a 2220 lb bull topping 172.00. Mark & Cara Haywood-Farmer had 475 lb s/c top 410.00. Bob & Dori Hampton had 844 lb Blk Angus powerful replacement hfrs that set the record at 246.00. The Deanfield Ranch saw their fancy 727 lb Hereford replacement hfrs hit 273.00. The cow/calf division was strong and the quality was first class. Len & Marvin Tonn from Kelowna saw their 1st calf Angus hfrs with calves at foot sell to 3850.00 per pair. The Bykerk Family also had a top group of Red Angus cows with huge calves at foot that traded to 4000.00. One of the best sales Kamloops has ever enjoyed with a huge crowd, all the chairs in the house were full. Next sale in Kamloops May 16th.
