1057 head of cattle sold through the ring in Vanderhoof on Friday. We enjoyed spring like weather and a strong market on all classes of cattle. Brian Hall showcased almost 200 feeders, 918 lb strs raced to 240.25, the 853 lb strs settled at 260.00 and 790 lb strs rose to 270.50. Brian’s heifers at 789 lbs hit 240.00, 728 lb hfrs were 247.00 and 699 lb hfrs saw 251.00. Esther Nageli had Red strs at 706 lbs reach 270.00 and her 628 lb strs shot up to 320.00. Evert Byers saw his strs that weighed 659 lbs settle at 300.00 and 599 lb strs were 317.50. Cary Chenard had 865 lb strs sell for 246.50 and 822 lb hfrs saw 228.50. Garth Everall sold Char x strs at 869 lbs for 260.50, 805 lb strs hit 265.00 and the 702 lb strs streaked to 294.00, the hfrs at 763 lbs caught 240.00 and some 666 lb hfrs made it up to 259.00. Garth also sold cows at 1674 lbs for 128.50. Garrett Ranches Ltd. treated us to hfrs at 618 lbs that reached 295.00 and some 549 lb hfrs soared to 322.50. Johnson Farms sold 781 lb Blk strs for 270.00 and 747 lb strs made it to 280.00, some young cows at 1081 lbs reached 148.75 and mature cows at 1735 lbs hit 128.50. Kochel Cattle and Timber sold 565 lb hfrs for 269.00. Andy Meints had powerful Red strs at 854 lbs reach 253.00 and 816 lb strs caught 257.00. Russ McLarry  brought in 822 lb strs that sold for 256.00, some 705 lb strs were 280.00 and the 772 lb hfrs reached 236.00, while 645 lb hfrs got up to 256.00. Larry Palmer had some x Bred hfrs at 630 lbs sell for 260.00, the 563 lb hfrs made it to 295.00 and the 516 lb hfrs went all the way up to 311.00. Rita Steffey had a couple of young Blk cows at 1173 lbs bring 172.00. Pooles Arrow Ranch sold Simm cows at 1466 lbs for 128.00. TMT Enterprises sold Blk Angus 952 lb strs for 231.00, some 687 lb hfrs reached 236.00 and 558 lb hfrs were up to 257.00. Rolf and Susanna Tschuor with a string of feeders in today, the 722 lb strs hit 281.00, some 653 lb strs caught 282.50 and 516 lb strs rocketed up to 330.00. The hfrs at 699 lbs rang the bell at 260.50 and 624 lb hfrs were 260.00. Harry and Jean Dykstra had some 423 lb h/c reach 347.50. Josh Grant saw a couple of young cows at 1105 lbs sell for 150.00. Red Moon Angus sold a pair of two year old hfrs at 1205 lbs sell for 154.50. Keith and Alexis Hart had 1615 lb cows sell for 130.00. Barb and Matt Mazereeuw had a pair of 1683 lb Gelbvieh cows top out at 132.00. Ed Klassen topped the bull market with a 2310 lb Blk bull that hit 149.00.
