Vanderhoof Sale - Friday, Nov 11, 2022
Bred cows and heifers were featured today in Vanderhoof, with over 600 head on offer including 3 herd dispersals. Muir Stock Farms highlighted the day with over 200 bred cows, the result of a lifetime of breeding excellent cattle. Two groups of young Blk cows reached 2,400.00 per head and some young Red cows fetched 2,200.00 and 2,000.00. Mature Blk cows topped out at 2,000.00 per head and the Reds followed up by hitting a high of 1,525.00. Merle and Shelley Olin sold young Blk cows for 2,375.00, some young Reds were 2,250.00 and mature Red cows for 1,725.00. Some Blk Heifers from the dispersal sold for 1,925.00. Evert Byers rounded out the dispersals with mature Simm x cows for 1,975.00. There were some excellent packages of bred heifers offered. Hatch Creek Ranch had two packages of big, strong Blk heifers reach 2,000.00. R W RContracting sold Blk heifers that returned 1,825.00 per head. Dieleman Ranch Ltd had packages of Blk heifers for 1,900.00 and 1,800.00. J.C. Vala presented Blk heifers that hit 1,850.00. The Simm x heifers on offer today proved to be sought after, Jamie and Denise Wiens had sorts of Red heifers for 2,600.00 and 2,450.00. Clayton Steiner watched his 1235 lb heifers reach 2,375.00 and Chet Larson had some heifers sell for 2,400.00. slaughter cows topped out today at 75.00. 500 head of feeder cattle sold prior to the bred sale. Seven Up Ranch Ltd. with 601 lb Char x s/c that returned 250.00 and 513 lb s/c were 270.00 the h/c at 522 lbs stopped at 219.00 and some 464 lb h/c touched 230.00. Marvin Amendt with solid Blk x bred s/c at 623 lbs rose to 240.00 and s/c at 564 lbs reached 260.00, while 475 lb s/c shot up to 279.50, his h/c at 575 lbs rang the bell at 217.00 and the 514 lb h/c were 216.00. George Amendt sold 647 lb x bred s/c for 240.25 and 558 lb s/c were 260.00, his 593 lb h/c saw 210.00 and some 536 lb h/c were 215.00. Myron Amendt was in with 681 lb s/c that forced 237.75 and 599 lb s/c for 243.25, while his 626 lb h/c were 206.50 and 559 lb h/c to 218.00 and h/c at 538 lbs settled at 215.00. Dan and Helen McLarry sold 688 lb British x s/c for 237.75 and 594 lb s/c were 244.00, the 615 lb h/c caught 205.00. Russ McLarry had 663 lb h/c for 204.00. Jayron Wiens had 561 lb s/c reach 260.00 and 541 lb h/c for 215.00 and the 472 lb h/c all the way to 221.00. A ANunweiler had hfrs at 746 lbs sell for 190.00.
