Just over 800 head of cattle were sold through the ring on Friday in Vanderhoof. Calves made up the bulk of the sale, with a light run of yearlings. Pat Muehlen started off the sale with powerful Exotic x s/c at 741 lbs setting the bar at 244.00 and his s/c at 637 lbs were 245.00. Luke Muehlen, followed up with Simm x s/c that weighed 660 lbs for 244.50 and a cut of s/c at 583 lbs were 249.00 and 1409 lb cows made it to 99.00. Mark Bekar sold Angus x s/c at 575 lbs that fetched 251.00, s/c at 510 lbs all the way to 268.00 and 445 lb s/c raced to 292.00 his h/c at 628 lbs were 219.00 and the lighter sisters at 458 lbs sold for 238.00. Ron and Lois Crosby watched as Simm s/c weighing 673 lbs commanded 245.00 and h/c at 624 made it to 225.00 and 557 lb h/c were 226.00 they also had a sort of cows at 1508 power to 98.00. Harry and Jean Dykstra had a string of Blk s/c, 641 lbs were 246.00, 565 lbs to 261.00 and the 448 lb s/c settled at 281.00. Dave Johnson sold big h/c’s at 675 lbs for 214.00. Muir Stock Farms was in with fancy Angus x calves, the s/c at 543 lbs were 255.00, s/c that weighed 374 lbs topped the sale at 315.00 and h/c at 458 lbs were 236.50. Nancy Schlamp from Fort St. James sold Blk h/c that weighed 434 lbs for 235.00. Jacinda Vandermerwe had s/c at 474 lbs catch 286.00 and her 437 lb h/c saw 237.00. Andy andMargaret Williams sold a nice set of calves, 625 lb s/c rose to 246.50 and 503 lb s/c made it to 270.00 the h/c that weighed 572 lbs returned 224.00 and h/c at 475 lbs saw 241.00. Brock Young had his 515 lb h/c ring the bell at 224.00 and the h/c at 473 lbs were 237.00. The yearling trade saw Andres Grunthal Eqiupment sell Blk hfrs that weighed 845 lbs for 207.00. Vivian Buchanan sold Blk strs at 816 lbs for 230.00. David Campbell had strapping Blk strs at 1028 lbs reach 200.00. Aubree Corbiere’s 840 lb hfrs marked 210.50. Thys Jaarsma sold 847 lb hfrs for 211.00. Bob Macdonald had some of the biggest strs today, 1078 lbs were 198.00 and the 922 lb strs fetched 215.00. Ootsa Lake Cattle Co. presented 970 lb Char x strs that returned 210.00 and the 801 lb strs were 215.00. Gerald and Tracy Turcotte sold solid Red strs at 993 lbs for 205.00 and 824 lb strs were 220.00. Vallee Creek Ranch was in with x bred hfrs at 884 lbs that saw 202.50. Peter Vandereep had his 818 lb hfrs settle at 205.50. Cows and bulls were steady with last week’s prices with Brian Hall’s 1379 lb cows hitting 101.50 and the 1316 lb cows making it to 99.00. S&D Livestock sold Red cows at 1313 lbs for 98.00. Bruce Saunders set the pace in the bull trade with a Blk bull at 1895 lbs for 127.00. Pooles Arrow Ranch had an 1895 lb Simm bull make it to 126.00 and Jeff Holland sold a Red bull at 1870 lbs for 124.00. Thanks to the buyers and contributors, the staff and crew.
