Another big sale in Vanderhoof on Friday with 1552 head of cattle sold through the ring. There was a light run of calves with the majority of the cattle being yearlings, along with nearly 300 cows and bulls. Danny Boehler sold 553 lbs s/c for 259.00. Ed Chaisson saw his Char x s/c at 514 lbs race to 287.50 and s/c at 447 lbs hit 302.50 while a sort of Char x cows at 1602 lbs hit 102.00. Walterand Lisa Elias had their good x bred s/c at 547 lbs sell for 265.00 and the h/c at 575 lbs returned 239.00. James Griffith had s/c at 391 lbs force 325.00 and h/c weighing 388 lbs were 295.00. Jon and Brenda Ziler’s blk s/c at 558 lbs caught 260.00 and the 545 lbs  h/c were 240.00 while a package of their slaughter cows at 1404 lbs rang the bell at 105.00. Charles Aebischer set the tone for the yearling market with 913 lbs strs for 225.00 and Char x hfrs at 929 lbs to 206.50, while his 842 lbs hfrs were 215.00. James Breit had Angus strs at 853 lbs fetch 230.50, while a sort of strs at 725 lbs made it to 235.00 and the 658 lbs strs were 236.00. Cody Forsberg was in with RWF strs at 844 lbs that caught 213.00, 736 lbs strs for 220.00 and 698 lbs RWF hfrs were 205.00. Garrett Ranches Ltd. sold open x bred hfrs at 842 lbs for 210.00. Golden Meadows Ranch Ltd. high marked with 869 lbs strs for 236.00 and 899 lbs hfrs that worked all the way up to 217.00. Olaf Halvorson from Houston sold powerful strs at 1086 lbs for 204.75, 894 lb strs were 225.00 and hfrs that weighed 864 lbs stopped at 205.00. South View Land and Cattle presented Blk strs at 916 lbs for 226.25 and hfrs 759 lbs were 217.00. Rick Loreth was in with a sharp set of Blk hfs weighing 845 lbs and selling for 207.50. Matt Megli sorted up hfrs at 959 lbs that fetched 200.00 and a triple draft of hfrs at 864 lbs shot up to 209.00. Lee Migvar had solid Angus x strs at 1011 lbs reach 214.00 and the RWF strs at 1005 were 209.25. Toby Millard sold Angus x hfrs at 754 lbs for 215.50. Gordon Parr’s 920 lb hfrs saw 201.50. Lenore Reimer treated us to over 200 yearlings, strs at 883 lbs sailed to 225.75, strs that weighed 800 lbs were 234.00, hfrs at 813 lbs made it to 208.00 and the 735 lb hfrs caught 217.00. Jared Reimer sorted up his Blk 856 lb strs to see them fetch 230.50 and his hfrs at 823 lbs made it to 211.00. J C Vala sold Blk open hfrs at 922 lbs for 200.00. Valley Creek Ranch sold strs at 990 lbs for 218.00 and RWF strs at 963 lbs were 209.50, while hfrs at 857 lbs made it to 205.00. Pieter Vandereep had a sort of Angus x hfrs that weighed 786 lbs soar to 220.00. Daryl Wiebe had his Blk strs at 918 lbs hit 223.50. Richard Wruth’s strapping Blk strs at 1089 lbs streaked to 208.00 and the 946 lb strs did not stop till 224.25. Slaughter cows and bulls were a little weaker today, with Marten andLynda Dyken’s Char x cows at 1584 lbs topping the market at 107.50. Copper T Ranch had RWF cows at 1473 lbs command 104.00. DMS Ranch Ltd sold Blk cows at 1423 lbs for 105.00 and Pat Muehlen also sold 1505 lb cows for 105.00. The top bulls were a 2295 lb Char bull from T KCattle Co for 131.00, Jason Beier sold a 2005 lb bull for 126.00 and Levi Walker was in with a 1690 lb bull that reached 127.00.
