Lighter receipts this week as cattle are out to grass and haying is a steady process. Today 210 hd mostly Butcher cows and bulls. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co. set the pace as they sent 24 powerful 1481 lb Butcher cows in one group topping 110.25. Mark Williamson from Lone Butte, put a very top on this thing with 1390 lb cows racing to 114.00. Mark also had cow/calf pairs trade to 2100.00. Bulls were strong today. Patricia Duncan from Valemount had 1835 lb Butcher bulls top 138.00. Tom & Linda Hancock also had 1388 lb Bucther bulls set the mark at 113.00. Paul DeMarni had a top bull, 1840 lb topping 137.00. Brian Foley Jr had 1100 lb hfrs top 143.00. Louise DeMarni & Brian Foley Sr had 2300 lb Butcher bulls top the over all trade at 140.00 and 1200 lb hfrs at 124.00. Feeder cattle had Kingsvale Cattle Co’s 684 lb Blk Angus hfrs topping 202.00. Gunnar Kristensen also set a mark with 2005 lb Butcher bulls at 140.50. C.E Cattle Co. had 793 lb Angus x hfrs top 187.00 and the big strs 842 lbs hit 182.50. Douglas Lake Cattle Co’s 1515 lb Butcher bulls sold to 127.00. XIT Ranching of Bridesville had 1280 lb Butcher cows at 109.50. Ian Card’s 1645 lb exotic cows sold to 111.50. James Huwer’s solid 2220 lb Limo bulls hit 142.00. Ray & Joyce Doll’s 1483 lb Butcher cows reached 112.75. Ian & Jo Nelson had 1530 lb cows hit 115.00, their 2305 lb bull hit 141.00. Schweb Family Cattle saw their 1488 lb Blk Butcher cows sell to 106.50. Riverview Farms had a 1605 lb top Butcher cow that sold to 112.00. Blackwell Dairy saw their 1915 lb kill cows sell to 108.50. John & Kate Anderson had 1388 lb cows that brought 108.50. It was a great sale. We look forward to the next sale Aug 9th in Kamloops.
