KAMLOOPS REGULAR SALE APRIL 5th
Huge receipts in Kamloops again this week as we hit the 680 head mark. Prices were strong and quality was first class start to finish. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co. put the action into this sale with a ring full of 963 lb heiferettes all Hereford and good, topping 130.00. The heavy end of these excellent heifers at 1065 lbs today saw 134.00. Terry Fletcher from Grindrod set the feeder sale into action with a ring full of 834 lb Red Angus Heifers notching 173.50. 16 head of their 789 lb Heifers set the record at 175.50. Tom & Linda Hancock today had 773 lb Black Angus steers top 196.00. Their 510 lb s/c 252.00. 15 head of their powerful Angus X s/c 619 lbs today hit 257.00 a sale topper. From Grand Forks today a liner load of first class heifers from Howard Smith & Margaret Young the ring full of 712 lb heifers all Angus X and powerful they traded to 187.00. 23 head of their fancy 732 lb heifers all Black Angus hit 186.25 their 701 lb steers hit 211.00. Ian & Jo Nelson presented a beautiful pen of replacement heifers 866 lb and fancy hit 188.00. John & Cathy Bakker from Bridesville had 468 lb black angus s/c top 260.00. Harvey Norman saw his 393 lb s/c top 305.00. Ian Sutherland had 680 lb black steers sell to 220.00. Dan Summers saw his solid 960 lb red steers reach 174.50, the fancy 891 lb hfrs brought 168.50. David Harrison’s 642 lb black heifers sold to 191.50, his top 1455 lb butcher cows reached 106.00. Coldstream Ranch showcased their 731 lb fancy heifers which hit 185.50, the 655 lb heifers rolled to 192.00. Coldstream’s 1050 lb heiferettes traded to 139.50. Alex Lytvynenko’s 590 lb angus heifers hit 200.00 with his 600 lb steers reached 230.00. The ring was full of 24 incredible Black Angus heifers from Kingsvale Cattle Co. 781 lb they traded to 178.00. Squaw Valley Ranch 1578 lb cows sell to 109.50. Jamie & Maureen Janzen today had 636 lb red baldie heifers trade to 200.00 with their 622 lb s/c hit 229.50. James Huwer from Lumby set a record with 666 lb angus cross heifers topping 194.00 with an influence of Limousin 746’s heifers raced to 185.25. Gary Stone had 1603 lb cows from Lumby top 106.50.
