What a way to start the New Year. It was one incredible sale with over 1000 hd on offer. The prices on all feeder cattle were sharply higher from our last sale in December with some classes 10 to 12 cents higher. The sale was electric with action. Our contributors presented a first class powerful set of feeders. Fred Bowers filled the ring with 49 Red & Red Baldie   h/c that weighed 559 lb and topped 185.00 and his 479 lb h/c reached 190.50. Brian Foley Jr in with a top load of calves, his 600 lb Blk Angus s/c from Campbell Lake hit 215.50. Brian Foley Sr & Louise DeMarni presented 22 Blk Angus s/c that topped 215.00 and weighed 640 lb next we seen the 700 lb s/c top 200.00 and the 600 lb h/c bring 183.50. Nelson & Danielle Patry from Merritt, came to town with 65 top calves, their Angus x 621 lb s/c hit 215.00 and the 693 lb s/c rocketed to 205.00. The Mitchell Cattle Co had 647 lb s/c at 215.00 and 700 lb h/c saw 179.00. Dorothy King with 575 lb s/c sell to 220.00. The Hartridge Ranch was in with great calves. Their 508 lb fancy h/c that topped the sale at 192.00 and 456 lb s/c at 234.00. The Squaw Valley Ranch had 778 lb Red Simm x s/c hit 198.00 and 24 hd of their fancy 722 lb h/c hit 177.00. Butcher Bulls saw the Yvonne Johnson Estate’s 1895 lb Bulls top 105.00 and their fancy 503 lb Blk Angus h/c hit 191.00. The Doll Family from Heffley Creek had 78 top calves. 17 of their 544 lb s/c hit 220.00 their fancy 484 lb h/c hit a top of 193.00. The Gang Ranch also had a top load of calves. Their 574 lb Blk Angus s/c hit 225.00, their 480 lb s/c set in at 239.00 and 27 hd of their 500 lb h/c set the record at 191.00. The Nicola Ranch had 578 lb Blk Angus s/c set a pace at 225.00. Ken MacDougall had 1450 lb Cows trade to 84.50. Steven MacDougall had 1525 lb Cows top 83.50. The Deanfield Ranch had 1233 lb Hereford Hfts trade to 119.00 and 1408 lb Cows bring 84.50. McGillivray Land & Livestock saw their 1410 lb Cows reach 85.00. The Philip Ranch had 1590 lb Cows hit 80.75 and a 2130 lb Bull trade to 107.00. Sidhu & Sons solid mature Bred Cows trade to 1800.00 per hd. The Squaw Valley Ranch sets the overall sale with 1594 lb Butcher Cows at 87.75. Huge thank you to everyone.
