The final sale of 2021 in Vanderhoof saw nearly 950 head of cattle go through the ring on Friday as well as a load of calves via video sale. There was some strong local demand to support the prices today. C4 Ranching was in with Angus x s/c at 469 lbs reaching 226.00 and 411 lb s/c that rose to 229.00, h/c at 454 lbs settled at 189.00 and 415 lb h/c touched 190.00, while some cows at 1389 lbs were 68.00. CNS Consulting Ltd. had Blk s/c that weighed 586 lbs and commanded 200.50 and Blk h/c at 593 lbs make 174.00. DMS Ranch Ltd. showcased some powerful Blk Simm x s/c, the 756 lb sort forced 189.00 and s/c at 670 lbs were all the way up to 193.25. Taylor Grafton saw his British x s/c at 505 lbs fetch 215.25 and h/c at 496 lbs force 180.00. Charlie Peebles from Burns Lake sold two liner loads of Char x calves, s/c that pressed the scales down at 673 lbs wound up at 195.00, 596 lb s/c marched to 201.50 and 502 lb s/c were 215.00, the Tan h/c at 607 lbs rocketed up to 185.50 and h/c at 538 lbs made 179.00. Bennyand Elysia Penner continued the parade of quality with Limo x calves, s/c at 631 lbs topped 194.75 and s/c at 548 lbs made it to 205.00, the big strong h/c at 625 lbs touched 170.00 and h/c at 544 lbs were 174.00. Rita Steffey sold Simm x s/c at 691 lbs for 188.75 and h/c at 537 lbs topped 174.00. Walker Cattle Co. brought us 200 crossbred calves and did they ever sort up! 53 s/c that weighed 643 lbs rang the bell at 193.73, 57 s/c averaged 565 lbs and returned 207.00, while 480 lb s/c rounded out the steer sort at 226.00. A sort of 51 Walker h/c’s at 592 lbs streaked to 184.50 and h/c at 517 lbs exploded to 195.50. Levi Walker presented outstanding Blk Simm x s/c at 639 lbs for 194.00 and the 582 lb s/c shot up to 203.25. Jon and Brenda Ziler sold big Blk s/c at 773 lbs for 190.00 and 711 lb s/c that returned 188.00. Mike and GeraldinePritchard had Char x s/c at 643 lbs sell for 193.00. Little Valley Farms, the Fawcett family, offered a tridem load of 550 lb s/c on video that marked 209.25. Andy Meints Contracting sold 1570 lb cows for 68.50. Woodmere Cattle Co. Ltd had feeder cows at 1115 lbs return 74.00. 1218499 BC Ltd. topped the cow market today with 1563 lb cows that hit 75.00 and 1394 lb cows that were 73.00. Maxine Bell had RWF cows at 1530 lbs settle at 68.50. HRH RanchVentures Ltd topped the bull trade today with a Red bull at 1830 lbs for 79.50.
