Kamloops Sale - Tuesday, Aug 24, 2021
The auction today in Kamloops had an excellent volume of cattle with 600 hd on offer. We had a lot more calves today and an excellent volume of yearlings. Glen Frankie from Beaverdell had 800 lb yearling strs top 195.00, then he filled the ring with 14 hd of 700 lb Limo x strs that raced to 210.00 and his 1440 lb Butcher cows topped 78.00. Larry & Elaine Dee saw their 405 lb s/c mark 240.00, 7 hd of their 523 lb Gelbvieh Blk Angus x s/c trade to 222.00. The Dot Ranch from Merritt had some great cows and calves. A pen of their 466 lb s/c raced to 226.00, their 429 lb h/c fancy and good traded to 208.00. The young Blk Angus cows that are bred to Red Angus bulls are due to calve in March traded to 105.00. Werner Stump of Crystal Lake Ranch saw his reputation 892 lb Red x strs hit 195.00. Bob & Arlene Chambers of Iron Mountain Ranch saw their 854 lb British strs top 190.00. Lorne & Cindy Hulley had fancy 450 lb Blk s/c sell to 240.00, their 555 lb Angus s/c brought 215.00 and the 600 lb s/c reached 207.00. John Grawehr had 664 lb Red x hfrs sell to 180.00. Fraser Ranch’s 2255 lb Butcher bull hit 99.00. Gordon Tetz had 368 lb Blk Angus s/c bring 285.00. The Some Day Ranch, Don & Diana Heighes had 577 lb Blk Simm x s/c race to 226.00 their 495 lb s/c topped 240.00, and their fancy 625 lb Blk h/c hit 192.00. Buse Creek Ranch show- cased a beautiful pen of Red Angus/Char x hfrs weighing 1038 lb that sold to 158.00, their second draft of hfrs 982 lb raced to 176.00. Megan Gordon from Lake County had 595 lb Blk Angus s/c sell to 208.00. Jon Peachey saw his 1810 lb Butcher bulls bring 103.00. Pike Mountain Ranch had 925 lb strs reach 183.00. Ed Merton from Vernon had 823 lb strs sell to 188.00 and 800 lb Blk Angus hfrs sell to 175.00. Dixon Creek Farms had 881 lb Angus strs match 188.50. The D Bar E Ranch from Vavenby saw their powerful Blk Angus 557 lb s/c hit 210.00. MacDonnell Farms out of Kelowna had 1300 lb Char cows sell to 76.00. Hardy Hills Farms had 911 lb strs sell to 179.00. Joe & Terry Baudin had 1525 lb Butcher cows sell to 79.75. It was a very strong sale and the buyers loved the quality of the cattle. The next Kamloops sale is an added sale scheduled for August 31.
