Good solid sale Saturday here in Vanderhoof with over 660 head on offer, consigners brought good solid strings of yearlings in. Kevin Bailey of Vanderhoof had some big powerful steers in, 11 head of 838lbers brought 94.75 and some 775 lbers were 94.50. His heifers were 820 lbs at 91 and 10 more @ 744 lbs brought 89.50. Brian Dykstra of Vanderhoof in with 35 head of strong cross bred heifers, 855 lbers @ 85, 709’S @ 92.50 and a package of 603’s @ 95. CTN Ranching of Fort Fraser in with a big group 108 head, rolled through with some great quality cattle. 23 head of steers weighing 513 lbs brought 1.1475 and 11 more 465 lbers were 1.19/lb. Some great quality light weight heifers @ 549 lbs were 1.0050 and 23 head of 452 lbers @ 1.0875. The Adam’s of Fort Fraser also were in with some great quality grass cattle, steers @ 578lbs bring 1.1275 and 487 lbers @ 1.17. On their heifer side, 10 head @ 533lbs @ 1.01 and 438lbs @ 1.08. Great quality yearlings throughout the sale. Slaughter prices again were very strong in Vanderhoof. John Vala of Fort Fraser in with a ring full of 17 head @ 1608lbs brings 50.50. Keith Hart of Prince George with 5 head averaging 1319 gets 49.50. Good quality cows went very well with older mediem quality bringing 38-44. Bulls traded to highs of 60 cents.
